The dog, now named Bandit, is on the road to recovery now but police are investigating exactly what happened. Bandit was found emaciated with a bullet hole in the back of his head and out the side of his neck. The Newnan Times-Herald reported on Thursday that Coweta County investigators were alerted after the body of a man was found at a home in Walt Sanders Road at 10:30 a.m. local time last Friday. The outlet added it was the homeowner who discovered the man’s body on his front porch when he returned home. Coweta County officers later investigated with assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI). As reported by WFAA, lawyers representing Jacqueline Durand have filed a lawsuit against an unnamed couple residing in Coppell, Texas, who last month hired the University of Texas at Dallas student to look after their three dogs while they were away. A police report quoted by the news outlet states that on December 23rd, 2021, Durand traveled to the couple’s home to care for the canines. The lawsuit claims that when Durand opened the front door to their property, she was “immediately and brutally attacked” by a mixed-breed pit bull and mixed-breed German shepherd....
The search for the missing Laundrie is continuing this week, with the FBI conducting a nationwide manhunt. The 23-year-old has not been seen since leaving his parents’ home almost two weeks ago.
