There is no Fortnite Season 9 Week 4 secret battle star to speak of, and there isn’t a hidden banner to find either. Like Season 9 Week 2, the loading screen instead sends Fortnite players to a Fortbyte, which is a new type of collectible that was introduced as part of Season 9. This particular Fortbyte is Fortbyte #91, and it can be found at an ATM machine outside of the arcade in Paradise Palms. However, there is a catch to it.
Fortbyte #91 hasn’t actually unlocked in Fortnite yet at the time of this writing, meaning that even those who complete all of the Season 9 Week 4 challenges will be unable to collect it at this time. It’s unclear if this is due to a bug or if players are expected to wait for Fortbyte #91 to unlock later on. This means that not only is there no Season 9 Week 4 secret battle star, but even those who manage to complete all of the Season 9 Week 4 challenges will be unable to collect Fortbyte #91.
Some fans may be disappointed that Fortnite didn’t bring back the hidden banners to find for Season 9 Week 4, but others may be enjoying the Fortbytes and the mystery behind them. However, it’s safe to say that most fans definitely prefer it when they can find a secret battle star after completing all of the challenges for any given week, as that is one of the best way to level up the battle pass and unlock cosmetics.
Based on the pattern established so far, Fortnite Season 9 Week 5 should have a secret battle star for players to collect. Those challenges will drop on Thursday, June 6, so Fortnite players disappointed at the lack of a Season 9 Week 4 secret battle star have that to look forward to in the coming week.
Fortnite is out now in early access for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
